Who is the programme for?
You may have done City and Guilds in Creative Embroidery and/or attended a range of embroidery workshops. You may just love stitching and textiles. You have lots of ideas but are not sure in which direction to take your work. You may feel inhibited in your design work by an inability to draw. You may want to take a course, because then you are inspired to do work, but want something more flexible than a pre-programmed syllabus working towards a formal exam or qualification.
What do we offer?
This is a practical, flexible programme tailored to your needs. It is a series of 9 events (every 6 weeks) including personal coaching (if desired), group workshops, guided study days at museums and art galleries, tuition in textile techniques, feedback, support and challenge. Above all, it is for enjoyment.
After a couple of introductory sessions, working on themes that interest you, you will discover ways of working through ideas and recording images to find methods of creating your very own individual textile work. Between sessions you will experiment to move your work forward.
Price and place
Starting in November / December 2009, we are offering between 6 and 8 places (classes will be no larger) at £35 per session (9 per annum). This fee will include a light lunch and materials for tutored workshops. It is intended to hold the session in Basingstoke, but we will consider other locations for subsequent classes etc.
Who is the programme for?
For students who have completed Textile Explorations, a bi-monthly workshop on various topics. If space allows, these may be open to additional students. Please contact us for details.
